Terms of service

Class Cookies gives English teachers a set of classroom games and teaching tools that run in a web browser, along with tools for saving class lists, student comments, word lists and sentence lists, and a place to share teaching material with other teachers.

The tools and the games are free to play and need no account. A subscription adds more content inside most of the games, and it adds My Classroom and The Staffroom.

• One account is for one teacher. Please do not share your login.
• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• Give us a real email address, so we can reach you about your subscription.
• You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

A subscription costs $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year. It adds extra content in most games, and it adds My Classroom and The Staffroom.

Payments are handled by Paddle, who are the seller of record for every purchase. Paddle's own terms also apply to the payment itself. Your subscription renews automatically until it ends, and it ends when you cancel it or when payment stops working.

You can cancel at any time from your account page, without emailing anyone. When you cancel, your subscription runs to the end of the period you have already paid for.

Refunds are covered by the refund policy.

We may change our prices. If you already subscribe, you keep the price you signed up at for as long as your subscription stays active. A price change applies to new subscribers, not to you.

You keep everything you made. Your classes, students, comments, scores, word lists, sentence lists and Staffroom collections stay in your account, and you can read them at any time, whether you subscribe or not. Without a subscription you can still keep two classes, and you can add students and scores to them. If you hold more than two classes, they all stay and you can still read them. Changing them needs a subscription. Comments, word lists, sentence lists and Staffroom collections always need a subscription, no matter how many classes you have. We do not delete a teacher's work because they stopped paying.

Please do not:

• Share your account with other teachers, or sell access to it
• Copy our content and republish it or sell it
• Upload anything illegal, harmful, or not suitable for children
• Upload material that belongs to someone else without their permission
• Try to break, overload or get around the security of the service
• Use automated tools to download our content in bulk

Our students are roughly 7 to 16 years old. Anything you share on the platform has to be suitable for that age group.

You keep ownership of anything you upload or post. By posting it on Class Cookies you give us permission to store it, to show it, and to let people download it, for as long as you leave it there.

If you post a worksheet on Class Cookies, please expect it to be public. A worksheet you share goes on an ordinary web page. Anyone can open that page, with an account or without one, and search engines can find it and list it. Anyone who opens the page can download the file. Please share something you are happy for anyone to see.

Only share work that is your own. Please do not upload anything that belongs to someone else, and please do not put student information in anything you share.

We check every worksheet and post before it goes on a public page. A reply you write in a discussion is different: it appears straight away, and we take it down if someone reports it and we agree. Please tell us about anything that should not be there.

If you delete a discussion or a reply, the replies under it are deleted too, including replies other teachers wrote. The same happens when an account is deleted.

We can remove anything that breaks these terms, and we can suspend an account that keeps breaking them. If we remove something of yours we will tell you why.

If a page on Class Cookies shows material that is yours, and you did not give permission for it, please tell us and we will take it down. Email admin.classcookies@gmail.com and include:

• The address of the page it is on
• What the material is
• Why the rights are yours
• How we can reach you

We take the material off the site while we look at it. We reply within two working days.

We tell the person who shared it why it came down. If someone keeps sharing material that is not theirs, they lose their account.

We work to keep the service running, but we cannot promise it will never be unavailable. We may take it down for maintenance, and we may change or remove features. If we remove something significant that you pay for, we will tell you.

Class Cookies is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, for lost data where you had a way to keep your own copy, or for anything outside our reasonable control. Nothing here limits any right you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

If we are found responsible for something, our total responsibility is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it happened.

You can stop using Class Cookies at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and we will tell you why.

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top, and we will email you if the change is a significant one.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If we cannot settle a disagreement between us, the courts of the Republic of Korea will handle it. This does not remove any protection you have under the law of the country you live in.
